Northwood Temple vs Cape Fear Christian Recap
This game was a back and forth matchup all game long, no team led by double figures and each team had a chance in the final moments to win the game. Northwood Temple would prevail on a last second shot by Ian Steere that banked in and gave them the win 44-to 42.
Northwood Temple Senior Forward Ian Steere: His consistency has gotten better as the year has gone on, he put together a nice game overall by scoring and rebounding at a nice rate. What may be his best asset is how well he alters shots, just his presence in the paint causes players to adjust their shot.
Cape Fear Christian Senior Forward Milos Galogaza: It is an absolute shocker that he doesn’t have more interest from college than he does at this point. He can stretch the floor with his jump shot from deep but he’s also improved playing inside with his back to the basket, he finished with 12 points.
Northwood Temple Junior Guard Josh Nickelberry: Josh has continued to play well at the PG spot, he uses his ability to knock down the deep ball to keep the defense honest. What has been impressive about his game this year is the numerous ways he can impact the game, he’s scoring, rebounding , passing and defending.
Cape Fear Christian Senior Point Guard Isaiah Tatum: The pace during this game was much slower so he didn’t have his normal numbers scoring wise but his impact on the floor was still the same. He handles the ball for his squad the majority of the time and has a quick first step that allows him to create separation with ease.
Northwood Temple Sophomore Guard Jay Hickman: His squad needed some more offense and he stepped up in a nice way, he knocked down 4 trey balls and finished with 12 points on the night.
Northwood Temple Junior Forward Christopher Fisher: Although he only scored 6 points, he provided a spark with his hustle and rebounding for his team. When he’s locked in and plays his role, he can be a nice asset to the team and helps to take some of the pressure off of Ian.
Cape Fear Christian Junior Forward Daniel Loboch: The way he impacts the game doesn’t show up in the stat sheet, he is a worker inside the paint, which helps to provide his team with extra opportunities on the offensive end. On defense he uses his size and strength in the paint, he hasn’t been here the full season but as soon as he joined the squad, he helped out nicely.
