Meet Lafayle Fuller

In 2017 Benicia High School was able to beat Center High School (Sacramento, CA) and advance to the 2nd round of the Sac-Joaquin Section before losing to Capital Christian. The Panthers would lose its top scorer Trey Pugh as he graduated and is now playing for Santa Rosa College. Despite losing Pugh, Benicia seems to be in good hands thanks to Junior guard Lafayle Fuller. Fuller was a starter last year for the Panthers as a Sophomore and averaged double figures. This season Fuller is on a mission to be looked at as one of the top players in the area, and lead Benicia to a deep playoff run this year. “My goal is to win MVP and go far in the playoffs”, Fuller said. As of today, Fuller is headed in the right direction in terms of achieving those goals.
Benicia currently stands with a 13-9 record overall but are 4-1 in league play. Fuller is also averaging 25 points per game for the Panthers, including a 34 point performance against league opponent Jesse Bethel High School (Vallejo, CA). Fuller is a 6’4′ combo guard who can shoot from the outside, and is extremely athletic. He was also a big part of YBA’s (Sacramento, CA) Big Foot Hoops Las Vegas Classic Tournament victory over the summer. As the season goes on Fuller will be the focal point of the opposing team’s scouting report, which will allow his assist numbers to go up. It will be interesting to see how the season will unfold, but it is clear to see that Fuller is opposing his will on his opponents.
