“Kingdom of the Sun” Tourney Interview Wrap-Up: Zach Scott
This Westminster Academy senior put his stamp on the Kingdom Tourney with his tenacious guard play, and ability to finish around the rim. Zach will be off to FGCU, this fall. We spoke about how the whole tourney played out for him in what was a great finish to 2017.
JR: “What was your experience like at the Kingdom of the Sun Tourney?”
ZS: “It was very fun playing against top teams and players. It was my second year playing in it and I think it is ran real well. Glad I got a chance to be a part of it.”
JR: “How would you rate the level of competition, as a whole?”
ZS: “Very high level of competition, there. Each game your playing against a tough team. You can’t take any games off in that tournament.”
JR: “What did this 3-4 day experience teach you about your team?”
ZS: “I think we grew as team on that trip. We basically did everything together like playing video game, laughing, and eating with each other. It’s best to make the most of times like this, because you will never get it back.”
JR: “Going into the second half of the season, what are you and your team’s goals after experiencing what you did at the #KOS?”
ZS: “We just want to take it one game at a time. We left the KOS, 3-1. We are looking to build of that momentum.”
JR: “Would you want to be part of this tournament again, next December? Why?”
ZS: “I would love to be a part of it, but sadly I’m a senior. It’s just a great environment to play in. Very high energy in the gym during those big games. I think this tournament will get even bigger in the next few years.”
