N’Diaye Brings Athletic Post Man Presence To Port St. Lucie
The Nation Prep has secured a pivotal mid-season transfer in landing 6-foot-9, Class of 2019 prospect Abdou N’Diaye. An advanced defensive threat with a knack for blocking, altering, manipulating, tipping, and changing the trajectory of shots, N’Diaye brings adequate rim protection.
The transfer via CGM Academy (AZ.) has also grown as a multi-faceted threat. Comfortable at putting the ball on the deck and passing the ball exceptionally well for a post player of his size, N’Diaye brings a sound skill-set and multi-positional mindset to the relatively new program.
Possessing a 7-foot-2 wingspan, N’Diaye is best known for his ability to seal the basket shut. Working alongside player development guru and former Marquette guard Tony Miller at CGM Academy, however, N’Diaye showed a dependable 18-20 foot jumper and a 3-point shooting aptitude as well. Versatility is king for N’Diaye, who is from the Senegal originally.
Cincinnati, UNLV, and a slew of others have offered N’Diaye, who has re-classified into 2018 after starting his career at The Master’s School (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) in the Class of 2019. Mick Cronin and Cincinnati appeared to be the highest on N’Diaye. The coaching staff have prioritized him as a Class of 2018 recruit, noting that he fills a void and contains the intangibles that would enable him to prosper in their system.
One attribute of his game that has grown tremendously is his ability to snake along the baseline and finish. He’s got the type of high-major athleticism you rarely see 6-foot-9 or 6-foot-10 guys with, an ability to attack and finish with ease.
The Nation Prep, which partners its basketball program with St. Barnabas Christian, will have ample talent flanking N’Diaye. Guard Dwain Williams recently put together a 29-point, 10-rebound showing and will look to establish a formidable inside-outside tandem alongside N’Diaye.
In entertaining a standard post-graduate and regular high school schedule, the Port St. Lucie-based program will compete against the likes of IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL).
