Recruiting Report: Noah Louis (2018)
2018 Palmetto forward Noah Louis joins a very successful Panthers team.
Previously at Coral Reef, the 6’7″, 190-pounder is happy to be at a program that went 20-9 last season, losing in the Class 9A semifinals to South Miami.
Louis reminisced about his junior campaign at Coral Reef.
“This past year at Coral Reef I was proud of the way I stepped up when Brent Holcombe (our star player) got hurt,” Louis told Prep Hoops Florida. “I feel like I took on the challenge and showed I can really play.”
Louis spent this summer with the Miami Runnin’ Rebels.
“This team showed me true competition as this was the first summer I have ever traveled out of the state for basketball playing in some big tournaments,” he said.
Currently, Louis has no offers but has interest from UC Santa Barbara, UPenn, Long Beach State and a few other Division II and Division III.
Louis says his overall mindset for the game changed when Holcombe went down last season at Coral Reef with an injury.
“I took on a more dominant and aggressive role both offensively and defensively,” he said. “My catching and finishing around the basket improved greatly.”
In terms of what he needs to improve on, Louis said that is his ball handling, outside shooting and overall engagement in the game.
A big man who can make things happen close to the rim, Louis is aiming to expand his overall game. His length and basketball savviness is beneficial. He should earn a few offers before the season is over at his new stomping grounds, Palmetto.
