Recruiting Report: Dante Moses (2018)
Inlet Grove graduated a large class of seniors, but the Hurricanes have a 2018 group that is just as deep.
A year ago, Inlet Grove went 7-19 in Class 5A-District 12. The Hurricanes move to District 11 this season. One of the many seniors is guard/forward Dante Moses.
He plans to be the captain and be there “whenever and however” his team needs him. The 6’4″, 178-pounder says he wants to get everyone on the court involved.
No offers have come yet for Moses, but he’s earned interest from Lipscomb, Dean and Palm Beach Atlantic. He reminisced about his junior campaign.
“This past season was rough on the competitive end, but I learned a lot. Our chemistry and focus on the court were not completely intact making it a challenging season,” Moses told Prep Hoops Florida. “I feel that I learned to be more aggressive on offense no matter the circumstances and to have more confidence in my shot.”
This summer, Moses spent his first year with Ball4Lyfe United. He says he learned a lot and was pushed to be better by his teammates and coaches, including Brandon Arquette.
As for his goals this fall, he wants to win a district title and make a state run. Moses is aiming to average 25 points per game and be more of an all-around player for his team.
Basketball all started for Moses at age 10. He says his biggest strengths are his ability to finish through contact, shooting and passing. He wants to improve his defense and get bigger, faster and stronger.
I saw Moses earlier this summer in Apopka as he was running with Ball4Lyfe United. He rarely missed from outside and had a good feel for the transition game. He is lengthy at first glance and I think if he can become more of a factor inside on a consistent basis, then he’ll see his stock rise.
