Recruiting Report: Aamir Whitehead (2018)
2018 guard Aamir Whitehead will wrap up his senior campaign at a new school.
The 5’11”, 155-pounder heads over to South Broward after helping Piper go 21-7 and make a Class 9A region quarterfinal appearance.
“Transferring to South Broward was the best decision for me and my family because it put me in a better position for college and education,” Whitehead told Prep Hoops Florida.
He says this past season went well for him as he was able to hold his own defensively and make plays on a consistent basis.
This summer. Whitehead played for the South Florida Disciples. The program finished in 4th place in the AAU Nationals.
Currently, he holds offers from Mitchell College, Eastern Nazarene, Trinity College and UNF.
Whitehead pointed to his mid-range jumper and his off-screen pull up as two parts of his game that grew the most over the last year. He’s aiming to improve his deep 3-ball to prepare himself for the next level.
This kid is a lead by example type of person and player. Whitehead had success at Piper and now he’ll be the guy South Broward leans on in crucial junctures of games. Look for Whitehead to better his all-around game with the spotlight on him.
