Prospect Spotlight: Isaiah Soler (2018)
2018 guard Isaiah Soler will finish out his high school career at South Broward.
The 6’0″, 155-pounder played previously at Chaminade-Madonna. Soler says the move was made for his growth as a player and academic wise.
“This past season at Chaminade was alright. I really didn’t get that much playing time on the court,” Soler told Prep Hoops Florida. “Off the court, I would workout and work on my shooting a lot, ball handling and pick and roll situations. I learned how to play my role on a team and how to really soak in all the information my coach had taught me and be a sponge.”
Soler arrived at South Broward this summer. He plans to be a combo guard who can make 3’s and will distribute the ball when necessary.
He played AAU ball with both Taylored Athletes and the Miami Thunder this summer. Soler called it a bonding experience.
Born in New York, Soler began his basketball career at age 13.
He pointed to his shooting, ball handling and passing as his biggest strengths. Soler says he wants to get faster and more explosive.
No offers or interest have come yet for the senior, but he should earn more chances to showcase his game at South Broward. Soler has a lot to prove. He flashed his smarts this summer in travel ball.
