Prospect Spotlight: Ben Massey (2019)
2019 athlete Ben Massey is in the middle of football season right now.
The 5’11”, 164-pounder has drawn interest from USF, Akron and FAMU. He plays cornerback and wide receiver for the football team who will battle Dixie County in the region semifinals tonight.
The junior averaged 15.9 points per game for Lafayette a year ago for the 11-10 Hornets for the basketball team.
“This past season the thing that I learned was leadership and what grew the most was my ability to lead,” he told Prep Hoops Florida.
Massey says playing football helps with his leadership, “when things go wrong I have to step up and help make them right.”
At age 6, he started his basketball career. Massey called his ability to blow past people and get to the whole as his biggest strengths. He wants to improve on everything as a whole this season.
No offers have come yet for Massey for hoops, but he’s an athletic kid who can get it done. Look for him to be the top piece for the Hornets once again this season.
