2018 Jesuit G Nick Weir talks upcoming season, interest and more
2018 Jesuit guard Nick Weir grew up a lot last season for the Tigers.
The 6’4″, 195-pounder showed poise as a key piece for Jesuit and he’ll be expected to be once again as a senior.
“This last season was a great year for me to grow as a basketball player for Jesuit,” Weir told Prep Hoops Florida. “The thing I learned the most was how to adapt to any role the coaches needed me to play. The thing I was most proud of last year was even though we were underestimated in our games we always came together as a team and ended up competing to win.”
Weir has been with the Tampa Titans travel program. He called it a great opportunity for him to take a different role and continue to get better at his game. Weir says the highlight of the summer was when his team finished 2nd out of 64 in a tournament in Massachusetts.
The part of his game that grew this summer was his ability to bring up the ball and control the game. He says the one thing that he wants to get better at is finishing around the rim.
No offers have come yet but Weir is drawing interest from Thomas, Marietta, Maine Maritime, Lasell and Case Western Reserve.
Weir is a hard worker and he showed that last season and during the summer with the Tampa Titans. He isn’t afraid to back down on either end of the ball, can hit jumpers in stride and is a smart player. Jesuit is lucky to have Weir on its side. He fits the system well.
