Top 250 Expo Prospect Spotlight: Jordan Litwiler
This Sarasota Christian senior has what it takes to be a force on his squad. Although, he joined us at the Expo to pick up some new tricks up his sleeve—and learn about the next level.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
I had a good experience at the Expo. It was good to go against some of the top players in the state. I also learned a lot of new drills, especially ball-handling. I will implement this in my workouts.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
I first heard about through my coach. My mom told me I should look into it, so I did.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
The best thing I learned was during the opening talk when coach DeNard was talking about finding a college that’s right for you. He brought up questions to ask yourself when picking a college. I hadn’t really thought of that, before. It helped to hear some of the things that make each level of college ball different, and decide what college fits you best.
Q: What positives in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
I think my defense grew the most. Everyone at the expo was pretty talented. So no matter who I was guarding, I competed with them and that helped me become a better defender. One negative was that I was way too passive in the first game. But as the day went on, and I got more comfortable with my teammates, I became more aggressive.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
Yes, I would recommend it. You get to face some really good competition, which will definitely help you grow. And it’s not like you have anything to lose. Just go out there, have fun, and leave everything on the court. You never know what can happen as a result.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
My role for this season will be to help my team win in whatever ways possible. Whether that be scoring, myself. Or, setting up my teammates up. I really don’t care, I just want to win. I’ll be the only returning starter, so we will have guys that are taking on much bigger roles, myself included.
This is Litwiler’s last go-round. Clearly, it doesn’t matter who puts the ball in the hoop. He wants to be around a team who his ALL contribution to the main goal—WINNING.
