Top 250 Expo Prospect Report: Nate Norman (2018)
Norman is starting his senior campaign at Union County in Lake Butler. He’s another guy who did his best to intake every piece of info he could. Him and I spoke about his Expo experience shortly after.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
I loved my experience at the Expo. It had the competitive atmosphere that just made you want to grind as hard as you you can to be the best one there, to ultimately show what you got and I feel like I did that. I felt like I was able to impress.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
I first seen of the Top 250 Expo on Twitter and decided to check it out and see what it was all about. I looked at pictures and highlight videos from the camp and was able to watch some of the drills and games. I really liked what I saw, so I wanted to be able to experience that.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
The best I learned from the camp, is what the college coaches really want to see. I was able to see and hear how important school really is to be able to play at the next level. I really loved all the dribbling drills and challenges, offered.
Q: What positives in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
A positive in my game that definitely grew was my shooting. I have always been more of a shooter than anything, but I feel like I furthered that skill at the Expo. One downside in my game has mainly been ball-handling, which I worked hard on and have definitely improved it.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
I would recommend it to peers for the simple fact that it’s a great competitive environment and learning environment. I would attend this Expo over and over again.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
My role for the upcoming season could be looked at as one of the main scorers and leaders on the team. Being the only senior, I will definitely accept the main leadership role and do whatever it takes to make my teammates the best they can be to earn the state championship.
I can tell Norman has a desire to give everything he physically and mentally can towards this season’s success. The Tigers definitely have a guy who seems like he’s ready and willing to sacrifice anything necessary to reach the end goal.
