Team Preview : Potter’s House
Potter’s House Christian Academy played this past Sunday at the All-American Showcase in Apopka. Prep Hoops took in the action from Sunday at the event. The Lions have added some new faces to the mix this season under Head Coach Steve McLaughlin.
Marsei Caston (2019) is originally from Windsor, Ontario Canada. Caston 6’2 combo guard excels at attacking the basket and finishing. Caston a athletic guard connected on several mid-range jumpers today for the Lions.
Caston spent last season at Ribet Academy (Los Angles, CA) and Calusa Prep in the spring semester. Caston is a dynamic player and should have a big season for Potter’s House Christian Academy this season.
Jimmy Beane (2019) has plenty of recruitment already going on before landing at Potter’s House Christian Academy. Beane a South Bend, IN native attended Clay HS before coming to Jacksonville.
Beane has heard from Ball State University, Detroit, IUPUI, Fort Wayne, Northern Illinois University, Toledo, North Dakota State and Kent State. Beane 6’6 reclassified into the 2019 struggled a bit today on his mid-range game.
Coyleone Girton (2019) played last season at 22Ft Academy in South Carolina. Girton originally started his high school career at North Bullitt HS (KY). Girton 6’3 guard really defends on the ball and is not afraid to pick up his man 94 feet. Girton plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder has some big-time bounce.
Caston, Beane and Girton will look to lead Potter’s House this season. The Lions feature Mehkii Noble and Arnaud Nuski in the paint. The duo are both 6’8 and in the 2018 class.
Jonathan Izemef and Bretner Mutombo both are promising 2021 post players on the roster. The tandem both played AAU with 1 Family AAU this past summer.
