A Little Black and White
North Carolina’s 2018 recruiting class went from good to really good tonight with the announcement from Orlando Christian Prep (FL) star wing Nassir Little pledging for the Tar Heels. Little had a strong spring/summer with 1 Family on the Adidas circuit and picked up an offer late this summer from head coach Roy Williams. Shortly after, Little put out a top five on twitter of Duke, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Miami along with North Carolina.
He made the decision tonight via twitter announcing his commitment to UNC. “I just love coach [Roy] Williams,” Little said. “He really cares about the players off the court, which is important. They’re a basketball school, which is something I wanted to be a part of. Coach Roy really knows how to win. I love winning. I really do. And that’s important to me.”
Little is skilled wing that is strong and athletic. I saw him play over the summer at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I really liked his college ready body and his ability to rebound and take over a game. He has a calm demeanor about him and gets his work done on the floor. He is a national recruit ranked 30th by PrepHoops. Many recruiting outlets that rank overall classes have North Carolina with the top class in the nation for the 2018 season right now.
Little will join the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year for North Carolina in Coby White from Greenfield School. White is a scoring guard that is on pace to set the record for the most points scored in a career in North Carolina high school hoops. White was offered a scholarship last summer and committed about a week later.
Rechon Black is the other North Carolina commitment for the 2018 class that will be joining Little and White. Black is back home in Concord, North Carolina after spending his junior season at Montverde Academy in Florida. He returned home and will play the season at Cox Mill High School, the reigning NCHSAA 3-A State Champions.
