Florida Top 250 Expo: Top 2018/19 Hoopers Under-Six-Feet-Tall
The 2018-19 classes possess some great talent all across the board. Some known for their height. Others known for their heart. Check out some of the top 2018-19 hoopers under six-feet-tall at the Prep Hoops Florida Top 250 Expo.
Joshua Williams – Choctaw H.S.
Standing at 5’10”, this junior guard was one of the best upperclassman passers on the court. His quickness up the floor was hard to look past. Williams penetrates the defense with purpose, and isn’t scared to challenge shot-blockers at the rim. A few times, he was able to avoid being blocked by pulling out a nifty reverse. The three-ball is an option for him, as well. When HE’S on D, his hands are active. Williams can strip it from you if you’re not paying attention.
Miguel Carrasquillo – Haines City H.S.
When this 5’9” junior travels through the paint with traffic, he doesn’t get rattled. Miguel showed poise and ball-control all day and made himself an offensive asset with his floater-game. When on defense, Miguel is as aggressive as they come—but in a good way, a smart way. He knows how to create turnovers for great transition chances.
Nigel Brown – West Orange H.S.
Another 5’9” junior, Brown has a strong, stout frame that is hard to get pass if you’re a ball-handler on defense. Brown plays with great pace, able to launch the floater from the elbow. If he’s penetrating the paint, Brown has a knack for finding the open man out the corner of his eye. Look for him to have a solid campaign this coming season.
Thierry Moliere – Jesuit H.S.
Moliere appears a shade under six feet, but he played bigger than that on the floor. His vision is very solid, does a great job at keeping his head up at all times. With the ball in his hands, he’s extremely patient. Moliere doesn’t rush the process of running a play. If he’s in a position to drive it to the rack, the senior can get to the cup with confidence.
Jesus Maranon – The Villages
This 5’8” junior definitely made his presence felt at Expo with the way he can hit his mid-range jumper. He played like he knew where his spots, were. He knew how to create space for himself to get the shot off. When it comes to assisting, he get the ball to anyone on the floor with ease.
