Florida Top 250 Expo Prospect Report: Jeremiah Wicks (2020)
2020 Bayshore Christian guard Jeremiah Wicks was one of 33 underclassmen and 86 total prospects in attendance at the Prep Hoops Florida Top 250 Expo on Saturday, Sept. 30th at DME Academy in Daytona Beach.
I caught up with Wicks to talk about his time at the expo.
Q: What was your experience like in Daytona at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo?
A: My experience at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo was great. I learned a lot of new dribbling drills, worked on attacking the basket and just picked up a lot of new moves I can add to my game.
Q: Where did you first hear about it?
A: I first heard about the event on Twitter.
Q: What was the best thing you learned?
A: The best thing I learned by far is how the recruiting process goes, and what you need to do in order to get recruited. Also, the advanced dribbling drills that we were taught.
Q: What positive in your game grew? What negative in your game did you notice and try to fix?
A: The positive in my game that grew is how I attacked the basket and used my body against my defenders to score. The only negative I saw in my game was when I hurt my knee during the game so unfortunately, I could not finish showing what I can do on the court.
Q: Would you recommend the expo to your peers? How come?
A: I would recommend this to my peers simply because you gain so much knowledge on the recruiting process and some important aspects of the game that will help you to continue to develop yourself as a player.
Q: What is your role looking like this season?
A: My role as a sophomore at Bayshore Christian is to be a leader. I’m looking forward to doing whatever it takes to get a win as far as being verbal with my teammates and just knowing my role as a prolific scorer. My plan is to “LEAD” them to states.
At 6’0″, Wicks is growing as we speak and he played sound basketball at the expo. I had a chance to see him play a few times as a freshman and he is certainly improving. Look for him to mature a ton as a player this season for the Faith Warriors.
