Trey Hill Recruiting Update (2018)
Considered an elite prospect since 2015, the recruitment of 2018 point guard Willie “Trey” Hill now enters its final season.
After starting his high school career with Fern Creek HS, Hill elected to compete with Pleasure Ridge Park the last two years. He will graduate this spring and likely move on to a Division One program. What options are currently available?
“EKU will be in to evaluate him this month,” said Hill’s father Will Hill Sr.
Indiana State is intrigued. Radford and Furman offered last year, but the Paladins of FU filled up their backcourt allocation for the Class of 2018. Radford has also gone silent.
Miami (Oh) wants to get down to Pleasure Ridge Park to evaluate Trey Hill. They intend to get into town during the season, as they are in favor of game speed evaluations.
Jacksonville is another team that stays in touch. The Florida university would also like to get an in-season evaluation by their coaching staff.
Frankly it is a quiet time for Trey Hill, as teams still try to figure out his ultimate position. Both Hill’s father and Trey believe the 6-foot-4 guard can lead a team. His demeanor is a little quiet for a floor general, but the foot speed and balance suggest it would be rather easy. Often Hill played with other guards. These guards were shorter and unable to play off the ball. This left Hill with limited point guard exposure and it might have cost him in the recruiting game.
With Pleasure Ridge Park the season should be one of the program’s best.
“We should be right there with Fern Creek and have a good chance,” said father Will Hill Sr.
