Prospect Spotlight: Eddie Davis (2018)
Eddie Davis has had two really solid seasons in a row and now the 2018 Dwyer guard is headed into his senior year.
The 6’3″, 225-pounder averaged 9.1 points per game as a junior and 9.6 points per game as a sophomore. He opened his varsity career, averaging 4.0 points per game in 10 appearances as a freshman.
Davis had 13 games with 10 or more points a season ago including two 18-point outings. Dwyer went 22-7 losing in the Class 8A region quarterfinal to Blanche Ely in overtime. Davis enjoyed his junior campaign.
“This past season for me was pretty good. The thing I learned the most was that I have to be more of a vocal leader,” Davis told Prep Hoops Florida. “The part of my game that grew the most was my playmaking and my role for next season is to become more of a leader.”
Davis spent the past two years with Ball4Lyfe United. He focused on becoming a better ball handler and to just have fun playing ball.
He started his basketball career at age 12, pointing to his rebounding, ability to create for others and his shooting as his biggest strengths. He’s aiming to improve his perimeter defense and ball handling as the season approaches.
No offers or interest have come yet for Davis, but he returns as the team’s third leading scorer behind fellow 2018 prospect Miles Coleman. Davis will be a big factor for this group and has the looks of a Division II/NAIA player at the next level.
