Prospect Spotlight: Avery Templeman (2019)
Avery Templeman is an athletic 6’3″ Guard/wing Junior who plays at
Sheldon High School. Templeman’s wing span is 6’5″ which helps
him on defense and with rebounds.
He’s an all round player but is best
at defense, although his passing and shooting are also good. He
struggled with attitude for awhile, reducing his playing time
sophomore year, but turned it around this summer.
He worked out everyday for at least 4 hours at New Hope Christian College with his old
High school coach who now coaches there, Jamal Lawrence. He improved
his ball handling, shooting, decision making, but most of all leaping
and passing ability. He’s a hard worker on the court, but isn’t just a
scrapper.
Templeman finds himself underrated in all aspects of his game,
although he never settles for just good enough. He trusts the process
and knows that if he keeps working hard and proving that he’s not just
another player, he’ll find himself in the right place. He has high
goals, and won’t stop until he achieves them. “It’s all mental for me,
but when I get past that point I know I’m the best player on the
court”.
