Dakota Rivers earned his first offer on Wednesday from FGCU and many more are destined to come.
The 6’7″, 185-pounder had a really sound summer with Team Parsons.
A 2019 prospect at newly established Windermere, Rivers also has interest from Georgia, Northern Arizona, Elon, New Orleans, Stetson, Arkansas, Yale, Mercer, Rice, Troy, Lipscomb, George Washington, Jacksonville and UCF.
He played his sophomore year at West Orange. Rivers called the season tough, but losses early on made the team better in the long run.
“We learned from our losses and tried to perfect everything that we had problems with,” Rivers told Prep Hoops Florida. “I learned that chemistry is very important when it comes to basketball because it builds teamwork, trust and communication. The part of my game that grew the most was my athleticism.”
As for the transfer to Windermere he says he has full trust in the coaching staff and sees a team filled with a lot of potential
This was Rivers’ first summer with Team Parsons which he called great. He focused on gained muscle and contributing on both ends of the floor.
He started his basketball life at age 5 and AAU ball at age 9.
Rivers says there’s a never a limit on how great you can be. He pointed to his athleticism, blocking shots and outside scoring as his biggest strengths.
He’s looking to increase his weight, improve his lateral quickness and become more of a consistent shooter.
An emerging prospect, Rivers gained a plethora of experience with Team Parsons this summer. Windermere will feature him often in the post and that will do wonders for his progress. He ranks No. 33 overall in our 2019 class rankings.
