Recruiting Report: Damian Miller (2018)
2018 forward Damian Miller heads into an important senior season.
Guard Trent Rolle has graduated and Miller returns as the team’s second leading scorer, averaging 18.0 points per game a year ago. Rolle missed 12 games of the middle of the season for the Patriots.
The 6’5″, 190-pounder reached double digits in all but one game for Miramar (16-12) as a junior. He had eight 20 point performances and a career-high 35 points in a one-point win over Atlantic.
“The thing I learned the most was to be inspiring and leading my teammates due to one of our top scorers being injured,” Miller told Prep Hoops Florida. “I believe me as a playmaker and scorer grew the most. My role this year is to be a leader at Miramar.”
Miller has run with SOH Elite since last year and he joined the Miami Rebels in April.
“I’m focused on working as hard as possible to get better as a player and get more recognition from college coaches and it’s been going well so far got a couple of interests from D1 schools,” he said.
UC Santa Barbara, Texas State and UC Irvine are the three teams showing interest in him so far. He has no offers at this point.
It all started for him at age 13 on the court. Miller says his biggest strengths are his scoring and defending. He’s aiming to work on get his teammates more involved and balance his game out.
Miller is going to be the feature piece for the Patriots. He had a very good season as a junior and he should improve his all around game in 2017. Don’t forget Miller’s name, he’s talented.
