Recruiting Report: Bailey Stephanos (2019)
2019 prospect Bailey Stephanos has decided to take his basketball talents to Dwyer.
After playing at Jupiter the past two seasons, the 6’3″, 190-pound wing is going to be a nice piece for the Panthers. A shaggy blonde haired kid, Stephanos is hard to miss out on the court due to endless energy and focus.
He played with the 17U Ball 4 Lyfe United squad this summer on the AAU circuit. He says the competition was better than what he’s experienced in high school previously. He’s been with Ball 4 Lyfe for about a year and a half.
What will Stephanos’ role be at Dwyer this season?
“I’ll be a ball handler, scorer and defender,” he told Prep Hoops Florida.
Stephanos says he worked hard on his explosiveness and strength this summer. He says he feels like he’s jumping higher and that he’s stronger than last season.
Basketball started for him at age 5. Stephanos says it was just for fun then, but in 5th grade was when he got into it and realized he wanted to play in college.
Currently, he has no offers, but the 2019 forward has drawn interest from Stetson, American and East Carolina.
Stephanos called his defense, shooting and leaping ability his biggest strengths right now.
Being a part of Ball 4 Lyfe is certainly giving Stephanos plenty of confidence. He’s a nice outside shooter with the length to mix it up inside. With the focus on jumping higher and being stronger, he should be able to have a breakout season at Dwyer.
