2019 F Isaiah Turner talks move to Georgia, offers/interest and more
2019 forward Isaiah Turner is an emerging talent in Florida. But he’s headed slightly up north this season.
The 6’8″, 180-pounder is a really gifted outside shooter and with his length and power, he’s able to mix it up inside more often than not. After two seasons at Auburndale, Turner has decided to play for Lincoln Academy in Suwanee, Ga. this upcoming year. He hopes to gain a lot of experience his new squad.
Turner spent this summer with 1Family, a program he’s been with for a few years. His focus this summer was simply to get better every day.
“The offers aren’t my main focus. If you work hard I know they will come to me and coach Lee always told me that,” Turner told Prep Hoops Florida.
This is what Turner says he learned from his sophomore season at Auburndale.
“I learned that I just have to play hard and that’ll get the job done. Defense win games so I have to work on my defense a lot more in order to lock my game altogether,” he said. “The part of my game that grew the most was my offense. I can get to the cup a lot more now in multiple ways.”
He started playing basketball at the age of 4 but has been shooting baskets since his first birthday when his mom bought him a hoop for the house.
Turner called his biggest strengths his offensive game, ability to get to the basket and create open looks for his teammates.
He currently has two offers from FGCU and Georgia Tech. Interest has come from the likes of South Carolina, Tulsa, UF, UCF, USF, Charleston, Dayton, SMU and Illinois State.
For what it is worth, Turner was our No. 30th ranked 2019 prospect prior to his transfer to Georgia.
Turner helped a 1Family program shine all summer and he propelled his overall stock in the process. There’s no doubt the forward will do big things in Georgia as a junior. He’s a guard trapped in a big man’s body at times, but his growth as an inside presence is noticeable.
