Viewing Period #2 – Saturday Round Up
As the viewing period heads to its final day, we take a look at some of the Oregon prep players who stood out on Saturday in various tournaments in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Salem.
Teron Bradford 5’10 Guard (2018/Oregon City HS)
Bradford who’s Oregon City team is in Las Vegas playing as a group in the Las Vegas Live event, helped his team to a bracket play win over Fierce New Mexico. The guard who is one of the better defensive players in the state exploded for 30 points in the overtime thriller.
Bryce Sloan 6’4 Guard (2018/Clutch Players/Lincoln HS)
The talented guard is with his team in LA playing in the Double Pump Best of Summer event was part of the Lavar Ball circus, when the Big Baller Brand forfeited and walked off the court. Despite this distraction, Sloan has played well in July and is drawing interest from D1 programs such as Seattle U, Eastern Washington, San Diego and more.
Jay Elmore 6’0 Guard (2018/Team Flight/South Eugene HS)
The sharp shooting guard put on another show in a last minute loss to Seattle Rotary, being the game high scorer with 39 points including 10 three pointers. In a game filled with future D1 players, it was the averaging looking kid from Eugene that stole the show.
Dalton Renne 6’7 Wing (2018/Team Fly/Banks HS)
The small school star playing his first season of AAU basketball is showing flashes of being the high level scorer that he’s displayed in high school. A nice compliment to Team Fly’s stable of quality big guys. Renne had a nice day shooting the basketball and used his length to create problems for teams on the defensive end of the floor.
Kelton Samore 6’8 Forward (2018/Portland Basketball Club/Grant HS)
The skilled four man displayed an assertiveness that was missing on Friday and showed the game that has garnered him multiple D1 offers. Effective in the pick & pop game, Samore also finished around the basket.
Connor Vralka 6’5 Guard (2019/Team Fast/West Linn HS)
The combo guard led a balanced Fast Team that bounced back from a Friday loss to a couple of nice wins and the #1 seed heading in to bracket play. Vralka did a nice job in transition including a couple of nice passes that resulted in big dunks for his teammates.
Keylin Vance 6’0 Guard (2019/Portland Basketball Club/Jefferson HS)
The lightning quick Vance impressed us on Friday with his play in transition and continued that yesterday, finishing at the rim in a variety of ways. Also showed the ability to knock down jumpers. A jv player last year for Jefferson, definitely a player to monitor as the high school season moves on.
