Senior Splash: Summer League 2018 Standouts Pt. 3/3
Kofi Asare: Eastside High School
Another guy who’s is an all-out hustler for the Rams on both sides of the ball. On defense, he’s a pest. Asare keeps his hands active while trying to steal the rock. If the ball is loose, he’ll dive for it in a heartbeat. On offense, despite being a medium-height guard, he knows how to box out anyone in his immediate direction. Asare is also one of the most humble kids I’ve spoke to in this Gainesville area.
Jimmy Johnson: Eastside High School
One of the nicest kids off-the-court, one of the most competitive on it. Johnson’s level of hustle never goes unnoticed. He’s one of the primary Rams who knows how to keep his teammates in the game, mentally. From a skill standpoint, his best asset is his three-ball. One of the purest shooters on his team, by far. Jimmy will be a key guy in the Rams’ success.
Jacari Rollerson: North Marion High School
Here’s another solid role player for the Colts who knows how to be an asset on the glass. Whether on offense or defense, Rollerson is going to crash the glass quicker than anyone on the floor. He does a solid job at boxing out, as well as handling the ball on the fast-break to get it to the open man.
Jakaris Hawkins: Columbia High School
I love watching Hawk play because of the motor he brings to every game. He’s not a guy who’s going to create his own shot off-the-dribble. But, when it comes to low-post scoring and offensive putbacks, there’s nobody I’ve seen that’s better at going all out for the ball. Even after suffering an elbow injury, Hawk’s attitude towards the game has not suffered, a bit. He’ll give you everything he has on the floor.
