Prospect Spotlight: Rodney Bryant
Rodney is another Apopka rising freshman who could make a splash for the Blue Darters if given the opportunity.
After seeing his play at the Raptors Elite ID4 invitational, he’s not a guy that will take your program to the next level just yet, but the potential is surely there. Bryant knows his potential is there.
Bryant can shoot the three with the best of them. Especially from the corner, where he drained most of his attempts. He said he works on shooting drills on a daily basis. When it comes to defense, Bryant can pick your pocket at any given time.
When asked about how he became solid at swiping the ball, Bryant said he pays close attention to what hand his opponent uses to dribble. Then when he switches to the opposite hand, he’ll make his attempt. More often than not, Bryant ends up with the ball in his possession.
He’s been getting his sprints up, as well. Lately, Bryant’s been running up and down local courts to try and get better endurance for when he has to push the fast-break.
When asked what his next area of development is, Bryant was emphatic with his response.
“I need to get more rebounds and be a leader on the court,” he said.
With some time and patience, Bryant could turn himself into a key player for his high school, very soon.
