The Team Wall has turned heads just about all spring and summer with stellar play and a high amount of its players receiving offers and interest from various D1 programs. In the midst of all the 2018 and 2019 talent that was on display, there was a young man who turned heads as well by playing up in the older 16U divisions averaging about 15PPG and at the end of the summer he got the chance to play with 17U. His name is MJ Rice, and from all things that I’ve heard he is one name that you will to keep in my mind for the years to come. Following their final game in the Fab 48 Tournament in Las Vegas, we got the chance to talk with MJ about the experience of playing up and some of his favorite things.
Q: How has the experience with Team Wall been for you?
MJ: The experience has been great, I couldn’t have asked for a better team and organization to play with, I have really enjoyed everything about being with the team and coaches.
Q: How does it feel playing in a higher age division?
MJ: It makes me want to work harder, it makes me want to get better so I can play at a high level on that division.
Q: Where will you be playing next high school season?
MJ: I’m undecided at this point.
Q: What’s your role on the teams that you play on?
MJ: My role is rebounding the ball well and being aggressive. Just to bring that high energy level for my team every time I step on the floor.
Q: Favorite Sneaker to Play in?
MJ: Nike shoes, I like KD’s, Paul George’s and a few others.
Q: Favorite NBA Player?
MJ: LeBron James, because he’s a versatile player that can play 1-5 on the court.
Q: Any pregame rituals?
MJ: I either sleep or listen to music,
