Recruiting Report: Jimmy Beane (2019)
6’6″, 205-pound forward Jimmy Beane has reclassified to 2019.
After coming down to Florida along with his family following two seasons at Indiana Clay, Beane found himself at Providence. The Stallions finished as the Class 4A state runner-ups after losing to Westminster Christian.
Beane moved down to 2019 because he skipped the 7th grade and is now in the right grade. He will be transferring to Potter’s House Christian this fall.
“I’ve learned a lot playing with my boys who graduated. They gave me the green light towards the end of the season to take over because they knew it would be my team,” Beane told Prep Hoops Florida. “A part of my game that grew was becoming more vocal on the team and leading and speaking up when I needed to.”
Beane is spending his first summer with E1T1. He played on the EYBL circuit previously with Spiece Indy Heat back in Indiana.
He says his focus this summer is to win the Peach Jam and improve his overall game.
Beane calls his athleticism, mid-range jumper and passing ability his biggest strengths. He’s looking to better his leadership in terms of being more vocal.
He currently has nine total offers from Kent State, Ball State, IUPUI, Fort Wayne, Northern Kentucky, North Dakota State, Detroit, Northern Illinois and Toledo.
Beane has drawn interest from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, FGCU, Nebraska, Kansas State, Southern Illinois, West Virginia, Illinois State and Valparaiso as of late.
Starting his basketball life at age 3, Beane has grown leaps and bounds since entering high school. Even though he’ll be attending his third school between two states, Beane is set up for a big junior campaign. He’s rangy and has the power to explode and finish in the lane. Look for the offers to come pouring in.
