Prospect Spotlight: Noah Richardson (2018)
Noah is a guy who’s ready to take ownership of his Eastside Rams, next season.
The rising senior said his team had a rocky start around November of last year. But the path seems different, now. Richardson notices the importance of his actions.
“What I do is going to affect others,” Richardson said. “It’s going to make everyone else better. We want to be at States, this year.”
Richardson knows how to keep his hands active on defense. He’s got some length to them, which makes ball-handlers think twice about forcing passes or getting too fancy with the dribble.
Though Richardson said he’s not afraid to muscle for offensive rebounds, despite being a slender wing. In a recent summer league game at Eastside, there wasn’t a shot he didn’t follow, whether his or someone else’s.
When the ball’s in his hands, Richardson still aims to look for the open man, in-transition. He described himself as a “pass-first point guard” who can score, when needed.
The rest of Noah’s summer will be dedicated to working on defense and becoming better at boxing-out. He feels that if he can do all the small things the right way, the same mindset will trickle down the roster.
