Prospect Spotlight: Dyquarius Redmond (2018)
Dyquarius Redmond isn’t your prototypical 5’9″, 140-pounder.
The rising senior at Pensacola has some serious jumping ability. He can dunk and blow past defenders with ease.
Redmond and the Tigers went 24-4 a year ago with an appearance in the Class 7A region quarterfinal. His role this upcoming season will be to serve as the distribute while making everyone around him better.
“This season taught me a lot in terms of becoming a smarter and more aggressive player,” Redmond told Prep Hoops Florida. “I learned to make better decisions and the biggest part of my game that grew was my defense.”
This is Redmond’s first year playing with the Florida Dream. This summer he’s focused on bettering his overall game.
He started his basketball life at age 12. Redmond pointed to his driving ability, passing skills and vertical as his biggest strengths.
Along with guard Shawndarius Cowart and center Bryant Devonchae, Redmond is one of three rising seniors on the Pensacola roster. The Tigers graduated nine seniors this spring. No offers or interest have come for Redmong yet, but that could change in the blink of an eye with a standout senior campaign.
