Prospect Spotlight: Cameron Tener (2019)
The Buchholz Bobcats have an X-Factor in rising junior Cameron Tener—and he’s out to avenge a lost season, last year.
Last year, Tener suffered a serious concussion that made him a non-asset for a great part of the year. According to head coach Bob Horodyski, he had an awesome summer league showing last year and has continued to climb as a potential big piece for the ‘Cats.
Tener’s a proven scorer playing a wing position. He once led all-players in a game last season against Ocala-Forest with 15 points before the head injury, occurred. Horodyski has said he’s been one of the most improved players after having him around this summer.
Another area of his game that’s flourishing: rebounding. In the few games I’ve seen of him this summer, Tener does a great job of avoiding being boxed-out and always attempts to pull down the rock. He has solid leaping ability, giving Tener opportunities to sky over someone and get out of the paint to push the ball, in-transition.
Horodyski and the team expect Tener to produce some quality minutes for the rest of this summer, as well as going into the fall. If he can continue to developing his scoring ability, stay aggressive on the rebounding tip, and become a defensive threat, Tener can be a prospect you won’t want to sleep on.
