Catching up with 2019 Niven Glover
The 2019 shooting guard out of Orlando had a breakout sophomore season for Oak Ridge, where he averaged 13 ppg, 10 RPG and 3 apg, with a season high in points of 25 against Dr. Phillips. This summer Niven has been playing with E1T1 where he suffered a minor setback with an ankle injury but not before he scored 33 points in one half while suffering from the bum ankle.
Glover, who wows the crowd with his arsenal of spectacular dunks has been working on fine tuning the rest of his game, he tells me that the main focus this summer has been working on his handle. Glover who models his game after Russell Westbrook and looks up to Chris Paul has received interest from schools like UF, Clemson, UCONN, Oklahoma State, UAB, Marquette, George Washington, UCF, Virgina, and has received an offer from FGCU. Glover is preparing for Peach Jam where he is looking forward to turning some heads, by making sure that his game is at it’s absolute peak to be able to impress the coaches and scouts in attendance. While speaking to Niven he mentioned that his favorite hobbies outside of basketball are working out, skateboarding and playing 2K.
Basketball has taught him to be patient and given him the ability to Strategize. Niven states that the ultimate deciding factor when choosing a school will be, which school best fits his desire of majoring in physical therapy, the relationship with the coaches and who he feels will best prepare him to play at the professional level. Glover’s favorite part of playing AAU is being able to experience new surroundings, while he loves playing with his high school team due to the fact he can play against and in front of people he knows. Glover is on his way to achieving the goals he has drawn out in front of himself.
