Prospect Introduction: Tyler Harris (2019)
2019 guard Tyler Harris earned his first varsity experience this past season.
The 5’10”, 162 lbs. moved up to the St. Pete varsity squad, something he called a great experience.
“The thing I learned most is playing together as a team and know everyone’s role on the court,” Harris told Prep Hoops Florida. “The special part of my game that grew the most is having a good court vision while handling the ball.”
Harris will be making the move over to St. Pete Catholic after two seasons playing for the Green Devils.
This summer, he’s training and looking to improve his game with the St. Pete Heat, his AAU team for the last three years.
“I’m really just focusing on making myself a better basketball player,” he said. “The workouts so far have been good, I’m pushing myself and also getting pushed by coaches.”
Harris began playing basketball at the age of 7. He calls his ability to control the floor and get everyone involved his biggest strengths. He wants to improve his decision making in terms of when to change speeds, go fast or slow down.
No interest or offers have come yet for Harris. He moves over to a St. Pete Catholic program where he’ll get ample opportunities to show off his game. The experience Harris gained on St. Pete varsity was invaluable last season. He’s an interesting 2019 prospect who should make noise this fall.
