Decisions are coming! Prep Hoops Oregon takes a look at six notable 2017ers that have yet to sign with a college.
Lucas Wilson’s, natural athleticism through the roof. Wilson is a big strong kid weighing in at 205 pounds who moves quickly and easily. Wilson has great fundamentals and can elevate w/ anybody in the gym. He is also a great rebounder and team player. Improving on his ball handling and his shot, Wilson is making strides to become a great basketball player. Wilson recently announced his plans to reclassify to the class of 2018 and will be attending Linked In.
Cameron Parker has started for his Jesuit team since his sophomore year. Averaging 26 points and 7 assists a game, the senior was named player of the year for his Metro League. His game resembles NBA MVP-candidate James Harden, using tact an intelligence to get to the line. Parker averages 10 free throws a game. Like Wilson, Parker is reclassifying to the class of 2018 and will be attending Tilton, a prep school located in New Hampshire.
Brad Allen, a big from North Medford who averaged a double-double per game. Allen was relentless on the glass, breaking the school record with 260 rebounds in a single season – a record that has stood since 1997. Brad also was voted 1st team all conference and honorable mention all state. At 6’6″ he is able to stretch the floor with a smooth 3 point and mid range shot but can also back anyone down on the post making him a very versatile player. Not only can he score but he takes great pride in being a excellent passer.
At 6 foot 2, 170 pounds, Hunter Coyle can score from deep but has also shown the ability to stop and pop or finish at the rim. Also being able to rebound better than most guards his size. Coyle plays his best basketball in transition because of his ability to see the whole floor which goes along with his ability to create plays for his teammates. He’s not scared to put his body on the line taking charges and diving for loose balls, doing things defensively to create transition offense. He backs down to no challenge, having played against some of the best competition in the country as well as in the 6A state championship game.
Demonte Malloy is new to the game of basketball, starting his sophomore year. He was the only sophomore in the Northwest conference in 2A to make first team all-league. Malloy’s junior year he earned player of the year for the Northwest conference for 2A and that same season he earned first team all state and was the youngest player in the selection. Strengths of his is having great court vision,being a great passer and able find anyone on the court. Another strength of Malloy is his 3 point shooting ability. Malloy is able get to rim anytime he desires. This gives defenders a hard time guarding him. On the off season he is in the gym 3-4 times a week working on his game. “I want improve my midrange shooting and defense this spring and summer.”
Nolan Bertain is a 6’5″ shooting guard from West Linn Oregon. Bertain is strong, athletic and a high IQ Player. What separates Bertain from others is his shooting abilities shooting 48% from behind the arc this past season (80/164). He has made all league honors all 4 years of high schools. And holds multiple D2 offers and some D1 offers. He has not made a decision yet.
