Prospect Spotlight: Isaiah Paige (2018)
Isaiah Paige, a junior from Ocala-Meadowbrook Academy and Upward Stars AAU hooper, has promise to be a solid prospect by the end of his 2017-2018 season.
The six-foot, 155 pound Paige has a calm nature about him off-the-floor. But on the hardwood, he’s a defensive terror. He knows how to lock down his offensive man and frustrate offenses. It’s one of the points he prides himself, on.
Playing at the point guard spot, he’s proven that he can find the open man and thread passing lanes in a variety of ways. Knowing when to pass, as well as which type to use, is a skill he’s honed.
There are some areas he admits needs more attention this summer. He’s working to become a better ball-handler and orchestrator of the offense. Paige mentioned Chris Paul as an idol of his when it comes to those skills. Also, becoming more aggressive at boxing-out is high-priority on his list of skills to develop.
Albion College in Michigan is the only school which has expressed some interest in Paige, but his heart wants to stay close to home. No matter the end location, Paige believes strengthening his skills at the defensive end, staying aggressive and never giving up on plays will lead him to the ultimate goal.
