Prospect Spotlight: Hunter Cattoor (2019)
A player that stood out to me this month was 2019 Bishop Moore guard Hunter Cattoor.
The 6’3″, 175-pounder flashed good handles and ample ball skills running the offense for Team M.O.A.M. at the Easter Classic.
Cattoor played a vital role in the Hornets’ 18-8 season which ended in Class 6A district semifinals. He was part of a relatively inexperienced Bishop Moore group.
“This season was a good learning experience for me just because of how young we were,” Cattoor told Prep Hoops Florida. “I had to take the leadership role so I learned about leading the team and just more about the game of basketball itself. The part of my game that grew most I would say is finishing around the rim being able to take the contact and still finish.”
As a point guard, Cattoor says he’s focused on getting better overall as a player. He wants to be better physically and mentally while continuing to develop his basketball IQ.
This is his first summer with Team M.O.A.M.
“It’s been great to be a part of this program, they have accepted me and treated me like family and it’s a lot of fun being out there playing with great teammates,” Cattoor said.
He started his basketball life at the age of 3. Cattoor calls his biggest strengths his hustle and heart for the game and ability to get down for loose balls. He’s aiming to improve his ball handling and overall shot.
Currently, Cattoor has no offers, but he’s drawn interest from North Florida.
Playing on the Adidas Gauntlet will certainly help Cattoor’s cause this summer. Like I mentioned previously, he is a good leader for an offense who has a pass first mentality. He can drive to the basket with ease and is a really solid passer. Look for Cattoor’s stock to rise with Team M.O.A.M.
