Prospect Spotlight: Guillaume Bakadam (2018)
Guillaume Bakadam arrived from Europe at the right time for the AAU Upward Stars. Looking to get a fresh start to life in the states, Guillaume has the skill set and ambition to start for a college program within the next few years.
He’s a driver. Someone who can definitely recognize the lane and attack defenses with ease. At 6’3”, 200 pounds, Guillaume isn’t shying away from contact any time soon.
From the corner-three spot, he’s close to cash. When asked where his favorite areas to shoot are, “I like shooting from zero degrees,” he smiled. The next thing you want to look forward to seeing is the rebounding desire. I didn’t measure his vertical, but I noticed he was the last one land on ground during practice.
But, G’s humble. He said he’s ready to become a better defender, and is aware the work it will take to get there. The basketball I.Q. and ability to shoot from anywhere are high on the list of areas to grow. He’s aiming to follow the trails of LeBron and Westbrook when it comes to having similar styles.
No looks or offers have grazed his way, but he recognizes that with faith, and a relentless pursuit of getting better on the daily, anything is possible.
