Player Spotlight: Hodain Sashwell (2019)
2019 guard Hodain Sashwell missed most of last season with an injury, but he’s looking to get back on a roll.
The 5’10” Hollywood Hills guard showed up at The Top Rank Showcase Orlando last month moving up and down the court with ease.
He came back for the Class 8A-District 15 playoffs but called the season long but short with his injury.
“I learned how much more I wanted to be in the gym after the injury and became way more motivated as a player,” Sashwell said.
He’s aiming to get stronger and faster this summer. He’ll be playing his first season for the Miami Suns.
Starting basketball at age 5, Sashwell pointed to his perimeter shooting, dribbling and ability to create space to attack as his biggest strengths.
He’s looking to improve his left hand, pull up off the dribble and dunking.
Nicknamed the “Silent Assassin” by his teammates, Sashwell currently has interest from Rutgers.
Look for Sashwell to have a nice summer for his new travel team and take that into his junior campaign. He can handle the rock well and he should get the opportunity to run Hollywood Hills’ offense. That would be a huge boost for him.
