Hollingsworth Sole Kentucky Prospect, Participates in Derby Classic
Kentucky 2017 Mr. Basketball Taveion Hollingsworth participated in the annual Kentucky Derby Festival Classic tonight, joining a high school seniors from across the country to play in the event. Hollingsworth has committed to play college basketball at Western Kentucky University and was the #1 2017 prospect in Kentucky. He was also the sole Kentucky high school player participating in the event.
Other players who competed in the event included Kentucky signee Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Hamilton Heights Christian,TN) and Louisville commits Malik Williams (Nelson Snider, IN), Darius Perry (Wheeler, GA), Lance Thomas (Norcross, GA), and Jordan Nwora (Vermont Academy, NY).
Hollingsworth finished the game with 18 points, shooting 7-11 from the field and was named Team Thunder Most Valuable Player. Team Thunder was also coached by Hollingsworth’s high school coach Scott Chalk.
