The top performers from the 8A state semifinals
Lincoln and Sickles won their respective Class 8A state semifinals on Friday afternoon.
The Trojans cruised past Palm Beach Lakes 86-60 while Sickles had to battle for every point in a gritty 54-49 victory over Lakewood Ranch.
Here are the top performers from 8A state semifinals:
Bryce Workman (Sickles)
The junior had a monster game with 20 points, 14 rebounds and three steals on 8-of-11 shooting from the field in all 32 minutes. Sickles lead on Workman time and time again and it proved to be wise.
Damien Gordan (Lakewood Ranch)
Gordan didn’t have the best shooting performance (8-of-19 from the field) but the junior point guard never stopped hustling in just over 22 minutes on the floor. He scored a team-high 20 points.
Dwight Wilson (Lincoln)
The 6’8″ senior center shined on the big stage with 18 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. Wilson will have to play even bigger against Workman in Saturday’s final.
Tionne Rollins (Lincoln)
Rollins paced Wilson with 17 points of his own. He also had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. The 6’0″ junior guard has some wheels that help set up his offense.
Bryce Beamer (Sickles)
The junior missed both of his 3-point attempts, but he helped the cause shooting 7-of-12 from the field for 14 points in just over 30 minutes. Much like the other Bryce (Workman), the duo need to have even bigger games to knock off Lincoln on Saturday night.
Daiquan Wyatt (Palm Beach Lakes)
Lavorris Givins may have led Palm Beach Lakes with 26 points, but he struggled mightily from the field. It was Wyatt who was the x-factor for his group with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Trinton Bryant (Lincoln)
The junior forward was one of three Trojans to reach the double digit mark. Bryant scored 14 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting from the field. He’s a difference maker.
