Top Performers – 4th Region Tournament Championship – 3/7/17
A handful of players impressed in the 4th Region Tournament championship game on Tuesday evening at Western Kentucky University’s E.A. Diddle Arena.
As Bowling Green beat Russellville, 81-62, to capture its fourth-straight crown, here’s a breakdown of some of the top performers from the action:
- Zion Harmon, Bowling Green
Harmon, an eighth-grader, scored 25 points, as he knocked down six three-pointers, to carry the Purples to the season-extending victory. Harmon played his style of game throughout the entire contest and presented many problems for the Russellville defense.
- Terry Taylor, Bowling Green
Bowling Green’s fellow star player dropped 12 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to help the Purples cap a second-straight undefeated season in the 4th Region. Taylor knocked down big-time shots and was a threat that the Panthers worked hard to try and contain.
- Micah Naylor, Russellville
Naylor scored 17 points to lead Russellville on the evening. Although he and the Panthers didn’t upset the Bowling Green, Naylor still played hard and aggressive and made the Panther faithful happy.
- Pedro Bradshaw, Russellville
Bradshaw finished with 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to be one of the Panthers’ leading scorers. Bradshaw hit tough baskets inside the lane and pulled down rebounds that led to baskets on the other end, while having some that gave he and his team second-chance opportunities.
- Kyran Jones, Bowling Green
Dyer scored 12 points and pulled down eight boards in the contest. Not only did Jones add points to the board, but he also played lockdown defense.
