Temple Christian vs. Miami Christian (Tuesday, 2 p.m. ET)
How they got here: Miami Christian beat Grandview Prep 91-81; Temple Christian beat Aucilla Christian 69-48
Miami Christian (26-2) is filled with talent starting with seniors Ed Camacho, Josh Rosario and Felipe Haase. This is the elite matchup in 2A this week. Camacho and Rosario had 25 and 23 points respectively in the region final win over Grandview Prep on Tuesday night. The Victors are two years removed from a state title and looking for another. Aucilla Christian (15-14) took down Temple Christian soundly on Friday night to move on. Junior Tima Finlayson and senior Gatlin Nennstiel are the top pieces for Aucilla. Nennstiel had a team-best 15 points in the region final win.
Game 2
How they got here: North Florida Educational beat Bayshore Christian 57-36; Florida Prep beat Central Florida Christian 50-45
North Florida Educational vs. Florida Prep (Tuesday, 4 p.m. ET)
North Florida Educational (21-9) punched its ticket to its second-ever state tournament and first since 2013 with a win over Bayshore Christian on Tuesday. Seniors Tajon Davis and Damion Walker had 16 and 15 points respectively in the region final victory. Florida Prep (24-5) is not your typical 2A school with three players 6’8″ or taller in Ndiaga Diop, Mbacke Diong and Lahat Thioune. Junior point guard A.J. Johnson is a true playmaker for the Falcons. Florida Prep is making its second state tournament appearance since 2013.
