Bryce Beamer, Marcus Cohen and Bryce Workman are all drawing attention from college programs while Lalanne hasn’t earned any interest thus far.
The 5’11”, 165-pound junior was the best shooter in Friday’s loss to Hillsborough. He had 14 points including eight in the second quarter alone. Lalanne was making nearly everything that he put up.
The Gryphons (20-4) sit in first place in Class 8A-District 8 with a perfect 14-0 record in district play.
“So far for me and my team, we’ve been growing together as a whole,” he said. “Gaining chemistry with one another and it shows on the court. We’ve come far since our first game together. The No. 1 goal is to put a banner up for the school and for our coaches. That’s my No. 1 mindset and focus.”
Lalanne is aiming to become a better leader because Sickles will be losing seven seniors next season including Cohen and Beamer.
“The team will need someone to step up and I think I have the ability to do that,” he said. “The game itself has slowed down in my mind and I can think more while playing.”
Even though, he has no offers or interest from colleges yet, he says he feels that wherever he winds up going that he’ll find a way to fit and be a game changer.
Lalanne’s outside shooting is not anything to take lightly. He’s really good in transition and can set up his own looks. This is a 2018 prospect that deserves more love. Right now, he’s contributing at a high level.
