“I’m a scorer,” Free said. “I’ll score in bunches. (I’m a) pure shooter, but I’m a slasher, too. I like shooting off the dribble, but I love getting to the free-throw line. I need to improve my defense as I work on foot speed in the offseason.”
Free says the season has been up-and-down for he and his teammates.
“I haven’t been healthy this whole season but when I got healthy the season has went good,” Free stated. “The team struggles as a whole since we have no primary senior leaders, so I have to step up and be a sophomore leader.”
In the classroom at the high school, Free says he is a hard worker.
“I have a 3.3 GPA and I work really hard on my studies in the classroom,” the student athlete noted. “Even though I’m not the brightest, I’m smart.”
Although he hasn’t received any direct offers yet, Free says he has been shown interest from Lee University, Wichita State, Northern Kentucky, Butler and Arkansas-Monticello, and says that more college coaches and programs should start to reach out because he gives his all.
“My drive for the game, my hustle, my determination, being a winner should catch college coaches’ eyes,” Free added. “I also have good size at 6-foot-4 and I just know how to play the game.”
