The 6’1″, 160-pounder scored 13 points in a win over Robinson last week. Six of those points came in the fourth quarter alone as the Panthers hustled for every point.
Boyd had this to say about this season. Plant is 9-14 and fifth in Class 8A-District 8.
“This season for Plant we started off slowly after Christmas break we have gotten a lot stronger,” he said. “My goal is to push everyone hard on our team and to distribute the ball.”
Boyd says his overall scoring and defense has improved this season. He’s looking to get better at taking care of the ball.
He has played for SEBA since 7th grade.
“I have learned life lessons with my coaches,” Boyd said. “They all have been a big part of my life. They showed me how to be a man and always take accountability in my actions.”
No offers have come for Boyd yet, but he’s drawn interest from Division-II programs UTampa and Barry.
Boyd has speed and range in his game. He attacks often in transition and for a young Panthers program, there is a nice chance, Boyd will have a big senior campaign. He’s a 2018 guard to keep an eye on.
