The 6’0″, 185-pound junior guard is averaging 19.8 points per game for the Wolves (17-7). St. Francis Catholic will travel to Pensacola Christian on Friday in the Class 3A region quarterfinal.
Baskin says he feels like he’s an underrated guard.
“I have gotten better at my mid-range and my transition game,” he said. “I’m trying to improve on my vertical and leaping ability.”
Florida State is showing interest in his services as of late, but he hasn’t earned an offer just yet.
Here’s how he sees himself fitting in at the next level.
“I really like the ball in my hands but I can play either the 1 or the 2. I’m a combo guard,” Baskin said.
An all-around athlete at St. Francis Catholic, Baskin also plays football there lining up as a quarterback and safety. He’s in very good shape and can outmuscle most guards at his size in 3A, even the bigger guys that go up against him. Baskin is a very talented attacker and with one more year ahead of him, I expect much more growth, hence more college looks.
