I first saw the Chamberlain junior last Tuesday night in a gritty 43-32 win over visiting Steinbrenner. In the season finale, the 6’1″ Wilson scored 10 points and had countless assists in the game. He did it from the 3-point line, inside and in transition.
Wilson’s passing is impressive and his ability to hit the mid-range jumper is as well. Earlier this season, he dropped 25 points in a win over Alonso.
The Chiefs (15-8, 8-2) are in second place in Class 7A-District 7 and will play Armwood tonight in a district semifinal game. The winner advances Friday in the district final.
Wilson is a big part of what Chamberlain does. If he continues to dish out fancy assists and knock down his shots, then he’ll find a spot somewhere at the next level. He’s still in the process of growing on the court and it is showing as a vocal leader.
