The 6’9″, 178-pound junior has now played in eight games this season after sitting out due to grades.
Watson has made an impact with 3.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. His 11 point game in a win over Gaither is proof of what he can bring to the table.
The Bulls enter district week with a 19-6 overall record and a 10-4 showing in Class 8A-District 8. Behind Sickles and Wharton, Wiregrass Ranch is in third place and now has size on its side with Watson.
“Although this season started off a little rough, I think we have come a long way, Watson said. “Since I had to sit out some of the season when we all were able to bond as a team and mesh well with our pass game and playing together. ”
He says his confidence has improved thus far this season.
“Going forward I would like to get stronger with my dribbling and being able to get more rebounds,” Watson said.
No interest or offers have come just yet for Watson, but you can bet if he shows up in the postseason then he’ll lift his chances.
Watson is lengthy and crafty in the paint. Now that he’s back, he’s a 2018 big man that deserves attention.
