Cluxton, who has grown a whole foot from his freshman year, stands at 6’8″, the most impressive part of his game is his footwork down low, Brooks has a knack for making the defender jump early which allows him to convert on an open lay in. Not only does his offense impress, the Senior can flat out protect the paint, as seen in the District Championship game which saw him tally up 10 blocks. He is the area’s 2nd leading shot blocker and 3rd leading rebounder.
Cluxton, has received plenty of interest from the likes of Winthrop, Rice, Campbell, Cornell, Jacksonville, and has received offers from Cedarville, and Army. Brooks is looking for a school with a good basketball program and also able to give him a great education.
He is confident about his team’s chances in the state playoffs, saying “We’ve competed with the best teams in the area and we are beyond excited to play them again with some minor adjustments.” Cluxton is looking to improve on his consistency at the foul line, he believes the best part of his game is his back to the basket play, and I am one to agree.
The senior is hoping his final High School season still has a lot of games left, with the Regional quarter-finals coming up, Brooks will have an increased responsibility to carry his team down low, with the terrific season he has had and a good run in the playoffs, Cluxton’s stock is rising.
