Here is a look at the region final slate for Friday night in 9A. All games are at 7 p.m. unless listed otherwise.
Region 1
Oviedo at Wekiva (8 p.m. ET)
How they got here: Oviedo beat Flagler Palm Coast 64-59; Wekiva beat Boone 37-35 in overtime.
Oviedo (21-7) will look to get its three-headed monster going: senior Ivan Smith, sophomore Morgan Mitchell and senior Miguel Lopez. Smith led the team with 19 points while Mitchell had 15 and Lopez scored 13 in the win on Tuesday night. Wekiva (24-5) has seniors Paul Reed and Ruben Sheppard and junior Tyrone Perry playing hard. Junior Jeremy Johnson finished with a team-best 15 points against Boone.
Region 4
North Miami at South Miami
How they got here: North Miami beat Pembroke Pines Charter 82-78; South Miami beat Miami Palmetto 58-52.
In the battle of South Miami and North Miami, the two high schools will battle it out on Friday night. North Miami (21-6) has sophomore Richard Charles and juniors Donte Innocent and Reynauld Laurent in front. Seniors Zack Dawson and Miguel Arnold both are fine players for South Miami (26-3). They each scored 18 points against Palmetto on Tuesday night.
Region 2
Oak Ridge at Osceola
How they got here: Oak Ridge beat Dr. Phillips 69-58; Osceola beat Treasure Coast 62-42.
Sophomore Niven Glover and junior Michael Devoe are two highly athletic guards that keep Oak Ridge going each game. The Pioneers (22-4) are back in the region final for the first time since 2015. For Osceola (27-2), the top team in 9A, they haven’t lost since Dec. 28 against The Rock. The Kowboys are on a 17-game winning streak as senior Brady Fernandes and sophomores Omar Payne and Isaiah Palermo have carried the team.
Region 3
Coral Springs at Wellington
How they got here: Coral Springs beat Deerfield Beach 47-44; Wellington beat Lake Worth 66-64.
Wellington (26-3) has Illinois commit Trent Frazier at the forefront of the team. The senior guard is a pure scorer and someone who attacks at will. He is fresh off a 32-point performance. Senior Sage Chen-Young and junior Bryan Williams have also been steady for the Wolverines. For Coral Springs (20-7), sophomore Jelani Heard and junior Kenny Lucien have been everything. Junior guard Wilvens Fleurizard led the Colts with 18 points in the road win against Deerfield Beach on Tuesday night.
